STATS GLOSSARY
Stat	Name	Description
+/-	Plus/Minus	Players score +'s when they are on the ice and a goal is scored for their team. Players score -'s when they are on the ice and a goal is scored against their team. +'s are not scored when the scoring team is on a power play. -'s are not scored when the team scored against is short handed
A	Assists	Assists are awarded to the players on the same team who touched the puck prior to the final touch which resulted in a goal.
G	Goals	Goals are awarded to the last player to touch the puck before making a goal. Shooting into one's own net does not count.
GAA	Goals Against Average	Average number of goals made against a goalie per game.
GAG	Go Ahead Goals	A Go Ahead Goal is the goal in which the winning team took the lead and never lost it.
GP	Games Played	The number of games a player has participated in.
GTG	Game Tying Goals	The Game Tying Goal is the very last goal of a tied game. Only one team in a tied game gets a Game Tying Goal.
GWG	Game Winning Goals	The Game Winning Goal is the goal number scored by the winning team which is equal to the losing team's score plus one. For example, in a 5-2 game, the 3rd goal on the winning team is the Game Winning Goal.
HT	Hat Tricks	A Hat Trick is scored when a player makes 3 goals in one game.
PIM	Penalties In Minutes	The total number of minutes awarded for penalties. Note this is not necessarily the total time spent in the box, which could be less if a goal is scored.
PPG	Power Play Goals	A Power Play Goal is when a player makes a goal during a power play advantage.
Pts	Points	Points are the total number of goals and assists a player has made.
Saves	Saves	Saves is the number of blocked shots on goal.
SHG	Short Handed Goals	A Short Handed Goal is when a player makes a goal during a penalty kill.
Shot %	Shot Percentage	This is the number of total goals divided by the number of total shots at a goal.
SO	Shut Outs	The number of games when the goalies played a perfect game.
SOG	Shots On Goal	The number of shots made at the goalie.
SV%	Save Percentage	This is the number of saves divided by the number of shots on goal.
